Join this exciting new project with the
Birchip Historical Society.
The Birchip
History Museum,
the home of the Birchip Historical Society, is the oldest public
building in
Birchip. Attached to the Museum is an
Archives Storage which is an authorized place of deposit for the Public
Records
Office. The Museum and
Archives
Storage house many unique and significant historical records and
artifacts of
Birchip and District which are available for research and viewing.
The aim of the
project is to sort, catalogue and index artifacts, documents and photos
at
the Museum.
The project is of 6 months duration starting 1 April 2007.
All volunteers will receive:
- Accredited Certificate in First Aid
Level 1
- Training in Occupational Health and
Safety
- Uniform and personal protective
equipment
- Training in indexing and cataloguing
Your commitment:
- Willingness to attend 2 days per week
(Tuesday & Thursday) for 6 months
- Enthusiasm for the project
- Willingness to work in a team
environment
