Swan Hill man and John Coatsworth aqnd Shire – John has provided press to the supermarket who presses his and Bull n Pine others carry on as normal.  Col Balinger to arrange a meeting with councilors to try and win contract for cardboard.

 

 

Men’s Shed

Dorothy Reid suggested Bunnings and Onleys gave tools to the Donald shed.  Still Don’t know about the meeting. People wondering whether there is enough interest.

Are near completion – Have to sort out finances in the next week or so and try and finalise soon.

Williamstown Alliance

Williamstown Lions have donated a boot load of new books to kinder sale and have another trailer load available if collection arrangements can be made. Still Looking For Hall curtains.

 

 

Kinder move to school. 

Frances – Both School and Kinder are keen to operate from the one premises and maybe there will be a meeting at the community cabinet.

 

 

 

 

Empty Plastic Oil Drums

James reported that if they are triple rinsed they can be collected by the man who does the drum muster otherswise they have to go down the hole.

Mallee Tree Productions to put flyer out and the actual production to be on or around the 28th of October

 

 

Water grant tank application for park. 

Motion to apply for 3rd round of the community water grants to put in foot pipe Started filling in application  for water recycle grant – Lucy MCLoughlan and Bill Quick.

Sing Australia

Really good meeting – Bloke is coming back on the 5th of July – They provide a CD with music and the words to sing to it.

 

 

Community Water Grant

Recycled out to the holding dam – met with tim mintern from horswham to plan a wetland so the water you are holding will be much cleaner – The idea is that before the water get sto the holding dam it will run through wetland fore filtration.  James Goldsmith and Dorothy Reid moved a motion that a letter of support for Birchip Landcare and BCLC and Lions Club be written .  Motion lost with only two in favour.

 

 

Toilet Notices

Dorothy Reid suggested that we put signs somewhere on the toilet stating things for people to do when visiting Birchip.

 

 

Doctor

No word about a doctor coming what do we do -

 

Frances to talk to Mathew Jones then between Gail and Frances work out what to do.

Shane

Wants dogs stopped from dirtying the main street.  Shane and Neil moved that we contact police and try and have law enforced ensuring dogs are tied up in the back of the street.  If this is not successful then take the matter to the shire. Carried.

Main Street sandbagging

 

After a lengthy trial period the current sandbagging has not worked because there have been several near misses in recent times.  Can the street between the Clock tower and the next island be completely blocked off to Lockwood Street.

 

 

Malle Bull entrance sign

Needs to be shifted in the front of the roses so that it can be clearly seen.  Bill and Ken moved that we ask the shire to do this.

 

 

Action write to shire requesting this be done.

Blacksmith Shop

Write to owners to make sure it is safe and that the footpath is clear.

Clean the street

Shane and Lucy moved that we request to the shire that the street and the gutter to be swept at least once a week in front of the shops in the retail precinct.  Frances will speak with Ken Round to try and arrange this.  If this is not successful then the forum will call a public meeting and then feed the results of this meeting to the board.

Frances moved and Bill seconded that we ask the Hospital Board to call a meeting with the Birchip community so that each can see each others views. 

Public Toilets

Flush party this Friday at 5.00pm – Sausage sizzle and stubby.

BBQ

Write to Simone thanking her for the BBQ grant application that was successful.

 

Community Cabinet

Hospital board is not meeting with the community to find out what the community wants.  Forum needs to organize meeting with community and the hospital board to see that they no the community needs.

July 16 2007 – August meeting is the annual meeting.
