GENERAL
BUSINESS:
1. Planning Permit Mediation
Meeting
Fiona reported on the meeting held on 16th December with Town Planner John Edwards, some Shire Councillors , Leisure Centre representatives and Neil Davis.
Fiona explained Leisure Centre position to the meeting, put simply the centre cannot afford to pay for water for the reserve fields and that years of management and money had been contributed to the water recycle system by the Leisure Centre. And that the Leisure Centre have never had objection to excess water being made available for the park.
She commented that the tapping had always been made available to the forum to the Abbott Street dam so that in times of excess water would be available
Agreed that the Leisure Centre would likely withdraw its objection if a water users committee were formed to be chaired by the Leisure Centre and if the tapping were made to the Abbott Street dam. These are solutions previously submitted to the Forum by the Leisure Centre.
Shire want to instigate an independent review of the system to see what effect tapping into the main pressurized line would have on the system.
No follow up received as yet from the Shire
2. Dumpezy
Still questions. Why not caravan park? Frances will check out at next Forum meeting.
3. Liquor Licensing
As reported to committee, two Liquor license compliance officers visited the centre on a Monday night. Just making contact prior to the football season when they would be back and when the Operation Razon group would be expected to make a visit. Need to keep visitors book up to date and sign in non members.
Complying with the requirement to not have drunken persons on the premises is a difficult one to deal with , both in terms of the customer and what is drunk. Pete finds this difficult.
4. Aerodrome Paddock
Pool committee have finished with use of aerodrome paddock. Robbie Lee has generously offered to spray the paddock for use for agistment. Fiona has spoken to Bryan and made some investigations. 200 acres, April crop wheat suggested. Soil test required. Need to manage input costs – fertilizer, fuel , spray, sow early so that time and machines not required while farmers need same for their own property.
5. Members
Membership renewal letters have gone out. Mark will keep register updated and send reminders and invitation to possible new members.
6. Kiosk guttering
James reported that all works on roofing and plumbing at the reserve needs to be done by a registered tradesman and a certificate of compliance received. While the Shire carpenter was repairing the down pipe to the tank at the kiosk, a Plumbing Inspector turned up and cited that various offences and fines that could be applied to the worker and the Shire.
